Simple Funeral Plans

What is a Simple Funeral?

In accordance with the National Association of Funeral Directors’ revised Code of Practice, which has been approved by the Office of Fair Trading, we can provide a basic funeral service, for those who don’t want to have a full service or are struggling with costs. This includes:

Provision of funeral directors’ services and attending to all necessary arrangements.

Conveyance of deceased from place of death to our mortuary (within a five mile radius and in normal working hours).

Provision of private mortuary facilities to care for deceased for up to 21 days.

Provision of a basic foil coffin.

Provision of a hearse and all necessary staff to the nearest crematorium or cemetery.

Funeral service on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only.

A simple funeral doesn’t allow for the provision of additional services, so does not include Embalming, viewing in our Chapels of Rest, or the provision of a limousine. We can however upgrade the coffin should you wish.

  • Provision of a simple coffin suitable for cremation
  • A rose placed in deceased’s hands
  • Full Service at Croydon crematorium – Tues to Thurs before 10am
  • Traditional hearse with conductor and four bearers
  • Hand-delivery of ashes in a simple urn or scattering in the Garden of Remembrance
  • Bereavement counselling service

  • £82.00 – Doctors fees
  • £220.00 – Out of hours fee – from 5pm to 9am
  • £75.00 – Upgrade of from cardboard urn to wooden urn and engrave nameplate
  • £230.00 – Minister fees
